Siberian Husky (medium coat) : : Female : : Adult : : Medium
Name: Maya Sex: Female Approx. DOB: August 2003 Weight: Approx. 48 lbs. Coat Color: Red and White Eye Color: Brown Energy Level: Medium to low. Maya doesn't display a lot of interest in playing with the other dogs in her foster home but her Foster Mom is certain she would love to go hiking or running with her new family. Personality: Maya is much more people motivated than she is doggie. She goes into a sit and will slide to the floor with her belly up for you to pet her. She gets all excited and happy when she sees her people. She is a very quiet, sweet girl and you barely know she's in the house. She is calm and adorable and just loveable to the point you just want to pick her up and hug her. She has displayed some chewing in a previous foster home but not in her current foster home. Good with Dogs: Yes but really doesn't care if they're around or not. She will do well with a canine sibling or without. Good with Cats: No. Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, chickens, birds, squirrels, opossums, etc. Good with Children: Maya is great with children. Siberians are typically good with children of all ages and the only reason we would not list them as not good with kids is because they may be too energetic and bouncy and knock over a toddler. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Miss Maya loves her crate. Her Foster Mom leaves the door open all the time for her and you will most likely find her curled up there enjoying some quiet time. Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Does pretty well on leash with not much pulling Basic Obedience: Maya knows sit and is working other basic commands All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative.
