About Merlin

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • Housetrained: Yes

Merlin is a very friendly laid back dog. He enjoys attention from people and quickly rolls over for belly rubs. He gets along well with the female Siberian in his foster home but also does fine with males. He is not much of a player so he really doesn’t care if other dogs are around or not. He has gotten into fights with his Foster Sister over toys/bones so does have some resource guarding that is being worked on. Merlin is a most stunning all white male Siberian with both parti-eyes, mean each is both brown and blue and they sort of marble! They are indeed eye catching! LOL. Merlin’s guestimated DOB is July 2001 and he weighs about 65-70 lbs.

Merlin runs with his Foster Sister about 5-6 times per week and loves it. He does pull on leash but walks better with the aid of a prong collar, although he is doing much better. He does not chew or dig holes and has been good around children but not tested with cats. Merlin knows basic commands (sit, come) and does very well in a crate and will lie down in it on his own. He will hop right into the car and lie down. Initially there were a few accidents, possibly due to surgery and change of diet, but he is now house-trained. In cooler weather he enjoys sleeping out on the deck, as do many Siberians.

All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative.
