Siberian Husky (medium coat) : : Female : : Young : : Medium
Mesha has had a bit of a rough life until now, but she's a true Siberian survivor. She came to us in September 2007 with 5 two week old puppies. She has finished her duty as Mom and now ready to find her forever home. We were able to track her history and learned that she has been hit by a car but did have proper surgery to correct the injuries to her leg. She has a little atrophy in that leg and hip area and will sometimes favor it with cold or rainy weather. Otherwise she does great and it doesn’t stop her from running in the back yard. She will most likely have arthritis as she ages though. Miss Mesha is a lovely black and white female Siberian with parti-eyes, meaning one eye is blue and the other is both brown and blue. She weighs about 40 lbs. and her guestimated DOB is January 2005. Mesha is an easy keeper. You don’t even know she’s around. You will find her lying in her favorite spot under the bay window or curled up on the love seat taking a nap. She is a very independent girl and never under foot. She has never had an accident in her Foster Home and has never been destructive so has full house privileges. She has only been crated for short periods of time and does fine. There is no reason to crate her however as she has perfect house manners. She does know sit and walks well on leash. Mesha eats like every meal is going to be her last and on occasion does try to sneak other dogs’ food. She is improving on that and learning that she just needs to go outside when she’s done eating. She does okay with other dogs but is really not interested in playing with them or joining in the reindeer games. NO cats, rabbits, chickens or small things that move for this Girl because she will take them out! Mesha will do fine with another canine friend or two, however she is probably not going to be a good choice as a playmate for another canine friend. She just does not have a lot of interest in playing. She will do great as an only dog with all the attention bestowed on her. She will also do well with children but she does have quite a “mothering” instinct and may try to do so with a toddler.
